The new High Sheriff of Cheshire, Mr Dennis Dunn MBE JP DL, has come into Office following a Ceremony held at the University of Chester.

It is with sadness that we report the death on 30 March of Mr Alex Cowan DL of Runcorn. Mr Cowan was appointed a Deputy Lieutenant in 2006.

The Lord-Lieutenant, on behalf of HM The King, has presented the BEM to Peter Offord Davies of Bollington. The ceremony took place at Dane Valley Community School and was also attended by The Mayor & Mayoress of Cheshire East and The Mayor of Bollington.

At a ceremony at Chester Town Hall, the Lord-Lieutenant, on behalf of HM The King, has presented the MBE to Mr Gordon (Gus) Cairns of Blacon, Chester. The award was announced in the Birthday 2022 Honours List.

At an event arranged by Willaston Parish Council on 6 February, Sarah Callander Beckett DL represented the Lord-Lieutenant and joined local residents in planting a tree in memory of The Late Queen’s Platinum Jubilee.

Brigadier John Thomson OBE, QVRM, TD, DL represented the Lord-Lieutenant at Neston’s Civic Service on 5 February.

The Lord-Lieutenant and The Mayor of Ellesmere Port have joined with the Westminster Families Group in planting a tree to commemorate the reign of her late Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. The tree was gifted from the Tree of Trees sculpture created outside Buckingham Palace during the Platinum Jubilee.
