Joëlle Warren MBE, DL – Vice Lord-Lieutenant of Cheshire
A Durham University Economics graduate, Joëlle started her career in the City before moving back to her Cheshire roots in 1994, having grown up in Wilmslow and been educated in Manchester. She is widely known in the North West business community as Executive Chair of Warren Partners, the Cheshire-headquartered executive search firm with offices in London. Advising on Executive and Non-Executive appointments at Board level across all sectors, she has a depth of knowledge in Chair and Non-Executive Director appointments and is passionate about improving effectiveness in the boardroom. She is qualified in psychometric assessment by the British Psychological Society. She was appointed Vice Lord-Lieutenant of Cheshire in 2010 and the founding Chair of Cheshire Community Foundation in 2011, a charity launched by the Lieutenancy and the Duke of Westminster to provide expert advice that will connect local philanthropists with local community groups that most need support, after they discovered that Cheshire was the only county in England not to have a community foundation. A member of the North West Business Leadership Team, Joëlle served for over nine years on the board of Manchester Metropolitan University, latterly as Vice Chair, and is on the CBI’s SME Council. She received an MBE in 2016 for Services to Business. In 2019 she was appointed Chair of the Crown Nominations Commission by the Prime Minister to appoint the new Archbishop of York and serves on the Leadership Team of her parish church, Christ Church, Alsager, a lively part of the Church of England in South Cheshire, where she is involved in children’s and community outreach work. Joëlle’s husband, Andrew is the Regional Schools Commissioner for the West Midlands, they have two married sons and love to travel, ski, climb mountains and spend time with family and friends.
