Royal Garden Parties

Every summer, garden parties are hosted at Buckingham Palace as a way of rewarding voluntary and public service.  Approximately 8,000 people drawn from all walks of life are nominated to attend each garden party.

The Lord-Lieutenant is invited to make a limited number of nominations of suitable persons who have made a significant contribution within their communities in Cheshire.  It is The King’s wish that those invited should be drawn from as wide a range as possible and reflect the diversity of each Lieutenancy.

If you wish to nominate someone you think has given outstanding service, please send a Royal Garden Parties Nomination Form (MS Word, 15KB) to the Lieutenancy Officer, Robin Roberts  (roroberts34@gmail.com) by 1 December.

It is important to bear in mind that many more eligible people are nominated than there are places available, and therefore success cannot be guaranteed.  The nomination should therefore remain confidential.  If the Lord-Lieutenant is able to include the name in her lists, she will write formally to the nominee asking whether they wish to receive an invitation and whether they have a preferred date. Details of the accompanying person will be requested at the same time.
