At a ceremony held at The Countess of Chester Country Park on 15 January, the Lord-Lieutenant presented the Sheriff of Chester, Councillor Jill Houlbrook, with a plaque to mark Chester’s designation as a Queen’s Green Canopy Champion City. Two standard oak trees were subsequently planted by the Lord-Lieutenant and the Sheriff of Chester to mark the occasion and also the 900th anniversary of the office of Sheriff of Chester.
