The Lord-Lieutenant attended a Service at St John The Baptist Church, Chester on 6 February to mark the 70th Anniversary of Her Majesty The Queen’s Accession to the Throne.

The Lord-Lieutenant laid a wreath at the War Memorial in Nantwich on Holly Holy Day – being the 50th anniversary of the association between Nantwich and the Sealed Knot Society in remembrance of the Siege and Battle of Nantwich (Winter 1643/25th January, 1644).

At a ceremony held at The Countess of Chester Country Park on 15 January, the Lord-Lieutenant presented the Sheriff of Chester, Councillor Jill Houlbrook, with a plaque to mark  Chester’s designation as a Queen’s Green Canopy Champion City.   Two standard oak trees were subsequently planted by the Lord-Lieutenant and the Sheriff of Chester to mark the

The Lord-Lieutenant has made a familiarisation visit to Bickley Hall Farm, the headquarters of Cheshire Wildlife Trust, in anticipation of the Trust’s 60th anniversary in 2022, which will coincide with Her Majesty The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee.

The Lieutenancy was formally represented at Remembrance Sunday Services/Parades on 14 November at Chester, Runcorn, Alderley Edge, Alsager, Congleton, Crewe, Ellesmere Port, Knutsford, Macclesfield, Middlewich, Nantwich, Northwich, Poynton, Sandbach, Warrington, Widnes, Wilmslow and Winsford.

The Lord-Lieutenant, Lady Redmond MBE, has presented The Queen’s Award for Enterprise (International Trade) 2021 to Illingworth Research Group Ltd of Tytherington, Macclesfield. The company was founded in 1998 and has developed a unique combination of patient- centric services to assist international pharmaceutical companies in the delivery of clinical research projects.

The Lord-Lieutenant, on behalf of The Queen, has presented Medals to 21 Cheshire Honours Recipients at a Ceremony held at Tatton Park. The awards included the OBE, MBE, BEM, Queen’s Police Medal and Queen’s Fire Service Medal.

Blacon’s Dee Point Primary is one of 70 primary schools across the country chosen to plant a tree to celebrate The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee in 2022. The Lord-Lieutenant visited the School on 5 October to join-in the tree planting ceremony with the head teacher, Dave Williams and the pupils.
