The Lord-Lieutenant, on behalf of HM The Queen, has presented The Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service 2020 to Activity in Retirement (Macclesfield).

The Lord-Lieutenant, on behalf of HM The Queen, has presented The Queen’s Award for Enterprise (International Trade) 2020 to Phoenix Cellular of Marshfield Bank, Crewe. Phoenix Cellular is a wholesaler of used mobile phones and wearable devices and wins the Award for Outstanding Short Term Growth in overseas sales over the last three years.

At a Ceremony held at Tatton Park on 8 October, the Lord-Lieutenant presented Mr Thomas Kelly of Prestbury with an honorary OBE for services to the information and communications technology sector in Wales.

At a Ceremony held on 14 August, the Lord-Lieutenant on behalf of HM The Queen presented Mrs Florence Ethel Cummins with the Medal of the Order of the British Empire (the BEM) for services to the Community in Aldford.

The Queen’s Awards are the most prestigious awards for business, celebrating the outstanding achievements of organisations across the UK. 20 July marked the launch of the refocused Promoting Opportunity (Through Social Mobility) category. Figures have been released showing that in the period April 2019-March 2020 6,711 young people completed the volunteering section of their DofE programme in Cheshire – a total of 79,976 hours spent on volunteering, equating to almost £348,000 in social impact value.
